What if art transformed your experience at Domaine de la Thibaudière?
When you think of a seminar venue or a family home for a get-together, you imagine a beautiful natural setting, old beams and stones, a warm atmosphere…

But at Domaine de la Thibaudière, there's something more: art is omnipresent. Sculptures, lithographs, and contemporary works are found throughout. This place is not just a natural haven; it's also an artistic sanctuary, conceived from the outset by Nicolas Tommasini to house his collection. Here, art doesn't just decorate the walls: it tells a story, challenges, and inspires.
Art as the signature of a vibrant place
From the moment Domaine de la Thibaudière was acquired, one thing was clear to Nicolas Tommasini: this place would host original artworks, going against the standardized or neutral decor too often found in hotels or reception venues. The goal? To create a unique aesthetic experience, spark visitors' curiosity, stimulate the creativity of teams during seminars, and support contemporary artistic creation.
The selection of artworks follows a simple guideline: no "déjà vu" art, no mass-market posters like those from a budget decorator! Each piece has a story, a presence, a soul. These are unique or limited-edition works, often created by living artists, sometimes little-known to the general public, but all offering a different perspective.
Around a hundred artworks spread throughout the estate
The permanent collection at Domaine de la Thibaudière brings together over a hundred artworks distributed across the various spaces of the venue: the entrance hall, the rooms & lounges, the bedrooms, the staircases, the gardens…
Among the major works:
- Guillaume Piéchaud, an artist renowned for his sculptural metalwork, has a strong presence on the estate. He is notably behind several metal benches, including a "Batman" bench. His unique style, both poetic and powerful, harmonizes beautifully with the old walls of the venue. He can be found almost everywhere on the estate...
- Roland Mellan, sadly recently deceased, designed a dancing red console that welcomes visitors in the entrance hall. This work has since been loaned to the Mandet Museum for the exhibition 'le mobilier bijou'.
- In the garden, a musical marble sculpture by Maurizio Toffoletti surprises with its delicacy and its poetic, even musical, resonances! Approach and touch it!
- The painter Pascal Pilate created several large-format, dreamlike canvases, including a monumental painting displayed in one of the lounges.
- One of the very first French street artists, JonOne, known for his colorful and expressive style, is also featured.
- A neon artwork by François Morellet, a pioneer of luminous abstract art and a member of the GRAV group, is discreetly integrated into the estate.
- On the staircase, a collection of 12 lithographs by Toulouse-Lautrec, an iconic Montmartre artist, draws the eye upstairs.
- A goose-neck shaped basin, a unique piece that often draws attention in one of the lounges.
- For an adult audience, a series of erotic drawings, displayed on the house's bedroom floor, is as surprising as it is amusing.
- A space dedicated to Aboriginal art, featuring works by renowned artists such as Lilly Kelly Napangarti, connects with the collections of major museums like the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac in Paris.
- Finally, a monumental sculpture by the mysterious artist Fantôme, depicting a giant lamp-woman, stands majestically opposite the entrance. It is the largest work ever created by this artist, a unique piece that strongly defines the identity of the place.
Among the artists featured at La Thibaudière, we must mention Chomo, sculptor and pioneer of found object art. Born in the same small village as Nicolas Tommasini, Chomo lived as a hermit, rejecting the art market and creating outside institutional norms. His work, praised by greats like Picasso, is displayed in the meadow room and behind the bar. His presence on the estate is a tribute to artistic independence and creation beyond conventional boundaries.
The list would be too long, but an iconic photograph, a large Goose vase, and works by Central European artists where Nicolas lived punctuate the visit.

A desire: to offer a different perspective
The decision to integrate so many original artworks into Domaine de la Thibaudière is more than just a matter of aesthetics. It is a cultural and philosophical project in its own right. For Domaines &événements, art allows for:
- Enriching the customer experience : each event becomes an artistic journey.
- To stimulate creativity : changing scenery also changes perspective. Art helps open the imagination.
- To spark conversations : many visitors ask questions, express surprise, and debate. Art becomes a catalyst for discussion.
- To support contemporary artists : by purchasing their works, the domain actively contributes to the vitality of the art world.
“There's a genuine desire to support living artists, to acquire unique pieces, to value what is original over what is reproducible.” – Nicolas Tommasini

Art at the heart of the Domaines & événements project
The artistic commitment at Domaine de la Thibaudière perfectly illustrates the overall vision of Domaines & événements. In each of the collection's properties, the group seeks to reveal the identity of the place through unique elements: architecture, nature, history, and art.
At La Thibaudière, you don't just come for a seminar! You come to share emotions and leave with memorable moments, and the artworks that resonate with us play a part in that!
Of course, art doesn't stop at La Thibaudière. Each of the Domaines & événements collection's properties reveals its own artistic sensibility. Whether it's through a contemporary sculpture placed in a park, a large-format photograph in a guest room, or an abstract canvas hanging in a meeting room.
Here, art never repeats itself: neither in style, nor era, nor in a fixed decor. Each work seeks to resonate with the spirit of the place. At Domaines & événements, art is not meant to be uniform, but to reveal the unique soul of each domain and enrich the experience of those who discover them.
